Hello,

I need to acertain how BB functions on a computer, which has two or more computers users on XP or Win 7.

1. It appears that a seperate BB account is required for each 'computer user's account', so I assume that BB can be configured independently for each user.

2. How does BB perform if 'fast switching' is used. Particually if BB is currently backing up Outlook Express or Outlook emails when a user 'Switches' accounts.

Regards
Paul

Hi there,

1. Correct, BuddyBackup is per-user. All of the backups and settings are stored in the user area (e.g. C:\Users\USERNAME)

2. You CAN run BuddyBackup on multiple users at the same time. The only problem you will find is that you will get what is called a "port conflict". This just means that both copies of BuddyBackup are trying to use the same network port at the same time. To fix this:

1. Open BuddyBackup on one of the accounts
2. Click Tools, Options
3. Click Network, Network Settings
4. Change "TCP Port" to something else - it can be anything, e.g. 6601
5. Untick "Default UDP ports" and similarly change them to something else, e.g. Client = 6604, Server = 6605

That will allow BuddyBackup to run concurrently with the other account.
